Q & A with Anthony
What was going on in your life that made you decide to make a change and what was your goal at that time to transform your life for the better?
I have been overweight most of my life. I come from a family that really piles mounds of food on their plates, especially carbs. I realized that I was getting older and still heavy set, so I decided it was time to make a change in my nutrition and activity levels. My goal was to become fit overall; I wanted to be stronger, faster and have greater endurance. I also wanted to lose weight while increasing muscle mass.
When did you first learn about Celsius and what made you want to try it?
I have seen Celsius online and my trainer finally decided to let me try it and I never looked back! The energy I got when I first tried Celsius and the positive effect it gave my workout was great. Now I drink Celsius before all of my workouts; it gives me a boost and allows me to stay focused during my training. I also like that the ingredients in the product are unique and I feel they are safe and not doing harm to my body.
What is your exercise/workout routine?
I enjoy cross training. Every day is different, but I incorporate a lot of cardio and weight lifting. Before every work out, I run at least one mile. I also enjoy doing group fitness classes.
What type of diet or nutrition plan do you follow?
Monday – Friday
Breakfast: 2 hard-boiled eggs, 2 egg whites and oatmeal
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: Boneless chicken breast with spinach and sweet potato
Snack: Protein shake and Celsius
Dinner: Chicken and vegetables
I have tried things like the Paleo diet in the past, but it wasn’t for me.
Reflecting back to where you were before you achieved your goal – how do you feel today compared to how you felt back then?
In the past, I didn’t have enough energy and I was much weaker. Today my energy levels, my strength and endurance are sky high!
What surprised you / what was different from what you were expecting as you made your way through your fitness/weight loss journey?
I was surprised that after two weeks, I started to notice a difference within myself. Just seeing all the hard work I have been doing reflecting itself in the mirror and on the scale was great. Seeing the numbers on the scale actually go down was very rewarding for me. So far I have lost weight with Celsius and my new routine.
Did you have any difficulties to overcome when trying to reach your goals?
Yes, I really decided to commit to fitness and got started with my training before the holidays. For me it was hard to stop/limit myself from eating what I normally ate on weekends and during the entire holiday season.
I have never been much of a fan of cardio. It has always been difficult for me so running was a big struggle. Now I have changed my mindset and I run a mile before all of my workouts!
Changing my lifestyle and the way I eat was also a bit difficult since my family loves to eat. After my family understood what my goals were, it became a lot easier and they are very supportive.
What has helped you stay on track and kept you motivated?
I like to think that I am competing with myself and I have to beat that guy- Me vs. Me! This helps me stay consistent so I never give up. I enjoy the challenge and even though I have seen results, I am still trying to make more of a change and will continue to use Celsius for my weight loss and fitness journey.
