A little over a year ago, Ramona made the decision to finally get into better shape and live a healthier lifestyle. She has since lost more than 100 pounds using Celsius, and she is continuing on her path to reach her goal weight of 140 lbs. “I’ve been overweight most of my life. Once I hit 40 I finally came to realize that I’m not getting any younger and I need to start doing this NOW!” Ramona tried dieting in the past and never found the success she was looking for. This time she told herself, “Okay, this is it, you’ve got to do it if you want to live.”
In the Beginning…
Ramona started making changes by trying to eat well and getting rid of all the junk. Her guilty pleasures such as pizza, would have to be put on hold in order to see some results. Ramona also tried to supplement meal shakes for some meals and added in walking. “That worked well and I dropped a few pounds, but I knew I needed something more.” This led Ramona into her local Anytime Fitness. There she committed to a year long gym membership. “The manager at the gym told me about the app My Fitness Pal, so I used it along with changing my eating habits and hitting the gym. I really liked that I could keep track of my progress with My Fitness Pal and see what I was doing.”
Ramona also used the help of a personal trainer, Anna “The Beast” Rawson. “This woman is a gift from God! She has helped me in so many ways. She put me on a great nutrition plan that was all mapped out, as well as an exercise program for when we are not working together.”
While Ramona does have the support of her trainer, it is not always easy when setting out on life-changing goals. Having a support group can greatly impact your motivation. “I’ve had my low points and struggles, but my trainer has also introduced me to a great group of people who are on a journey to get healthy. I consider them my friends.”
How Celsius Impacted Ramona’s Weight Loss Transformation
Shortly after hiring Anna, Ramona found Celsius. “I was looking for something to give me extra energy, burn fat … a weight loss aid to help my metabolism. My goal was to get in shape for the first time in my life. I wanted to become healthier and live a better lifestyle. In the beginning I could barely do anything physically. Now I’m about 1/2 the person I was!”
Even though Ramona has experienced great changes mentally and physically, she is still on a mission to stay active and fit. “I drink Celsius every day before I go to the gym, which is 5 to 7 days a week depending on my work schedule.” Ramona has tried several other fitness drinks and pre-workouts, but none of them worked for her. “Celsius gives me the extra energy I need during workouts and makes me feel like I could keep going without feeling sick, jittery or having an energy crash. It is a light drink that’s tastes amazing, no matter what flavor you drink. I also like the fact that it’s not made with a bunch of unnecessary ingredients.” Which is one of the reasons Ramona also stopped drinking soda. She buys 2- 4 packs of Celsius a week to help her stay on track.
In March 2014 Ramona completed her first 5K. “I finished the race, but it took me 1 hour and 11 minutes. It was a proud moment for me because I did finish it.” Even though she did not run the entire race, the fact that she tried and completed the course is an amazing feat in itself considering at one point it was only a dream. “Two months ago I ran my second 5k in only 44 minutes. And yes – I had my Raspberry Acai Celsius with me!”
Ramona continues, “My life has completely turned around. It’s like night and day. I feel healthy. I am still on my journey and I still have more weight to lose, but I feel 100% better. I notice it. Just walking; I’m no longer out of breath because I have more energy to do everything. I walk faster. I’m not scared to try things anymore like I was before. Other people see it in me and I see it in myself — and I’m not done on this weight loss journey. If I don’t have a Celsius before I work out, I can tell the difference. I can always tell when I have had a better workout after I drink Celsius. I definitely feel like I have burned more calories. Halfway through I still have the energy I need to make it all the way to the end. When I am done I can definitely tell by the amount of sweat — there’s a lot more after I have had a Celsius!”
With exercising, eating clean and drinking Celsius, Ramona has lost a grand total of 134 pounds! “Thank you for making a great product and helping me reach my personal fitness goals and achievements. I’ve turned several friends on to your product and they love it as well! Anytime someone’s asked me a question about a good pre-workout, I tell them about Celsius,” she says.
Ramona’s Meal Plan
With her busy schedule, it is important to stay organized and plan ahead. Ramona has a meal plan that she sticks to every week — and she prepares all of her meals for the week on Sunday, packages them up and puts them in the fridge for easy pick-up-and-go convenience each day.
Breakfast: Two eggs whites, 1 packet of oatmeal
Lunch: 3 oz. chicken or turkey, 4 oz. vegetables (green beans, kale, spinach, zucchini), 3 oz. carbs (sweet potatoes, quinoa or brown rice)
Dinner: Rinse and repeat
Tip: If you’re wondering, “how do I figure out what is 4 oz. or 3 oz.?”, Ramona cooks everything first and then she uses a kitchen scale to weigh everything once she has finished cooking all of it. Afterward she rations all the portions into her Tupperware.
Ramona’s Workout Plan
It is important to get in as much physical activity as possible. Because Ramona has a crazy work schedule, she has to fit in her exercise at odd hours of the day and night. Whether she is up and at the gym by 6 a.m. or trailing in after 8 p.m., she makes no excuses for her busy life.
Sample Workout Routine
Monday: 1-hour Cardio / Spin Class
Tuesday: 30 minutes Weight Training (arms), 30 minutes of Cardio (treadmill, elliptical, stair master)
Wednesday: 1-hour Zumba Class, add 30 minutes more of Cardio own your own once you are able
Thursday: 30 minutes Weight Training (legs), 30 minutes of Cardio (treadmill, elliptical, stair master)
Friday: 1-hour Boot Camp / HIIT or Aerobics Class
Saturday: 30 minutes Weight Training (core), 30 minutes of Cardio (treadmill, elliptical, stair master)
Sunday: Rest Day
Tip: For beginners, Ramona recommends Zumba or Aerobics classes if you are just getting started with the gym classes. If you are starting out on your own for cardio or weight training, cut the time in half and keep building on the time until you increase your endurance to go for longer periods of time.
Weight Loss Motivation
Things can happen to throw you off track. It happens to everyone. Ramona has a few words of wisdom when it comes to these types of set backs.”The key is to stay in the right mindset, keep going and keep pushing forward. You need to remember what your goals are, and you have to really believe in what you want to achieve. There are no limits to what you can do. If you falter along the way, consider it a lesson learned and get up and do it again. You just have to go for it.
The hardest thing, besides saying you’re going to lose weight, is actually doing it. Whether you are walking into a gym or just walking … getting outside … doing something. That’s the hardest part. That first step. Having a support group is important too. I have a great core of people around me trying to stay healthy or get healthy, and we make a good team. That type of support keeps you going. Don’t give up and believe in yourself.”
