Fall is finally here which means the weather will finally cool down and the season of “pumpkin everything” is now upon us, including tasty pumpkin recipes! Rather than choosing artificially flavored pumpkin treats, try using real or blended canned pumpkin as a great way to add some nutrients and creaminess to your dishes without a lot of extra calories or carbohydrates.

Make sure you are buying the pure canned pumpkin as opposed to the pumpkin pie mix that is loaded with extra sugar and calories.

Remember that plain pumpkin does not taste too great on its own, but it takes on a lot of flavor from other ingredients you mix it with. So, if you have some extra pumpkin laying around, this Creamy Pumpkin Smoothie recipe is a great way to use it all up in a tasty way. This Pumpkin Smoothie Recipe is also easy to make, and requires only a few healthy ingredients for a great fall flavor.

Creamy Pumpkin Smoothie Recipe Ingredients

½ Cup Pumpkin Puree, Canned

½ Cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk (you can use plain)

¼ Cup Water

2 Pinches Pumpkin Pie Spice

1 Scoop Lean 1 Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein (you can use your favorite flavor or brand)

4 Ice Cubes

Mixing Instructions

Place all ingredients in a blender or magic bullet. Blend until ice cubes have been completely crushed. Once you are ready to drink, add in a few extra ice cubes to keep the smoothie cold. This smoothie will be thick and creamy–you can add in an extra ¼ cup of water or almond milk to water it down to your preference.
