Remember field days as a kid? Relays, sack races, obstacles course and team flag tag; fun activities that beats staying in the classroom. But, ultimately, these activities taught us teamwork, friendly competition and promotes exercise. So, what an exciting way to kick off the spring with the Rugged Runner Challenge, 3 miles run and over 20 obstacles (push-ups, burpees, and jumping jacks, etc.) of all athletic levels. The event was hosted on Sunday by Girls on the Run a non-profit organization providing pre-adolescent girls the tools to embrace their individual strength. The Rugged Runner Challenge was held at Dreher Park in West Palm Beach Florida and the proceeds provided scholarships to girls from low-income families.
Meet some of Celsius’ heroes Amanda Roy and her two daughters Payton and Lillian. Amanda Roy a Running Coach for Girls on the Run finished 17/68 in her age group and 119. Payton and Lillian 9 and 6 years of age ran the 1 mile obstacles. Patyon and Lillian are competition swimmers and Payton will be running her third 5k this Saturday.
