Team Celsius athlete, Dennis Navarette, has seen his fair share of competitive success over the last year in Stand Up Paddelboarding. Upon turning 40 years old, he thought his competition days were over, but that was not case. Dennis proves that you can get and stay fit at any age. Celsius is happy to have such a driven and motivated athlete as a member of the team. Congratulations on all of your success Dennis, we look forward to fueling your passion for fitness with Celsius in the 2014 SUP competition season.
“When I turned 40 last year, I thought I would graciously bow out of competitive paddle sports and just compete for "fun". After all, 40 is not a young age!
But at 41, I was in more races and I seemed to have seen the winner’s podium a lot more than the previous year! The November 2013 Pacifico Paddle Challenge in St. Pete Beach, FL was supposed to be my last race of the season. Yet on December 5, I found myself in Puerto Rico at the 2013 Paddle Royal SUP race. At this event I was paddling alongside elite professionals and amateurs from around the world!
At the Paddle Royal, I came in 10th Place in the Men's Elite Amateur Distance Race and 30th overall behind the professionals. Although not the best rank, I am proud to have raced alongside these top notch paddlers! This race has given me a wealth of knowledge and experience…the ultimate training and motivation for 2014!
Thanks to Celsius and the incredible group of paddlers and coaches I work with, I am confident that I will be in the best shape heading into 2014!” –Dennis N.
